PSE SHARES SHOPHOUSE INSIGHTS AT DBS

PSE-DBS Event.jpg

The PSE team was recently invited to DBS' Singapore Headquarters to present to a group of high-net-worth foreign investors, alongside DBS team heads and representatives.

The session explored why shophouses continue to be viewed as desirable and highly valued investment assets, from limited supply and conservation value to long-term commercial relevance.

The presentation was followed by an interactive Q&A session, where investors discussed market opportunities, asset fundamentals, and what makes shophouses a distinct segment within Singapore’s real estate landscape.

Richard Tan Kah Peng on Channel 8: The Cultural & Market Value of Preserved Shophouses 狮城有约 | 受保留店屋的文化和市场价值

Richard Tan Kah Peng appeared on A Date with the Lion City as he discusses the significance of preserved shophouses in Singapore, both culturally and in the property market.

"Before the epidemic, rents fell, but as it ended, people returned, business profits recovered, and rents naturally rose. However, the current increase mainly reflects a return to pre-epidemic levels rather than additional growth."

PROPERTY REPORTS

Download the Q4 2025 Shophouse Market Report for a comprehensive snapshot of last year’s fourth quarter.

Transaction activity eased due to year-end seasonality, while pricing held steady across most districts. Big-ticket deals continued to dominate, prime locations stayed resilient, and buyer interest remained anchored to scarcity, heritage value, and long-term defensiveness.

The report also explores how shophouses continue to attract investors looking for stable capital preservation rather than short-term momentum heading into 2026.
